Eden Philosophy

The Eden Alternative is the journey we travel daily "living" our lives to the fullest. It si not based on an end result. It is an atitude, a lifestyle and a personal fulfillment. It's not a structure, a project or a list of objects. The Eden alternative is about touching hearts and allowing growth to happen. It is about the growth and nurturing of the human spirit. Just as our Elders have potential for growth throughout their days, the Eden process is never finished. The Eden Alternative will continue to grow day by day, year by year as we touch hearts and share our lives with all who are welcomed into our home.

We take pride in providing a home-like environment for our residents as well as our staff. As we travel through life as a family we learn, grow and flourish together. This process is ongoing and we will continue to strive to improve the lives of others as we touch hearts and nurture spirits. We are dedicated to eliminating the plagues of Loneliness, Helplessness, and Boredom that make life intolerable in most of today's long-term care facilities. We have the core belief that aging should be a continued stage of development and growth, rather than a period of decline.

The Eden Philosophy shows how companionship, the opportunity to give meaningful care to other living things, and the variety and spontaneity that mark an enlivened environment can succeed where pills and therapies often fail. Places that have adopted the Eden Alternative typically are filled with plants, animals and are regularly visited by children. This can be seen in our gardens, courtyards, and hallways and can be seen in the pictures above and below.
