Patient Focused Care

Wiregrass Medical Center is built for patient focused care. Our patients have access to advanced technology in a hospital specially designed for their treatment and recovery. From admission until discharge, patient care focuses on personal needs, comfort and convenience.

WMC Employment

Wiregrass Medical Center is a 67 acute care bed hospital, a Nursing Home with 96 beds, and a Sr. Care Unit with 16 beds. Being part of the community has been an important goal throughout the years, and with your help and loyalty we can continue to provide health services that you can depend on.

Welcome to WRCNH Activities!

At Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center & Nursing Home we pride ourselves on our commitment to providing a variety of activities that meet the varying cognitive, sensory, spiritual and psycho-social needs of our residents. With the Guidance of our Resident Council, we strive to provide the best diverse activity program. With combined experience of over 40 years, we feel that we are plugged in to our resident community. Whether it is Sunday School, a picnic in the courtyard, working in the garden, writing to pen pals from Huntsville, AL or painting a picture, our residents are engaged in each activity they attend and enjoy each moment.

We have entertainment from a variety of sources and sometimes from within our own home. Sunday School is provided by Maple Avenue Baptist Church each Sunday morning at 10am. Shady Grove Assembly of God, Geneva Church of God, The Crossing and First Baptist Church are area churches who also provide services. Our very own Resident Council President and reigning Ms. WRCNH, Ms. Gwen Haney, leads a monthly Bible discussion group and resident, Ms. Leonora Laidacker teaches a crocheting class. Spa Day is held once a month where residents can come enjoy a facial, have a hand and arm massage, get a manicure or just relax while listening to soothing music while having a light snack.

The activities department is responsible for special events throughout the year. One of these events is The Ms. WRCNH pageant, a preliminary event to the Ms. Alabama Nursing Home Pageant. We celebrate Nursing Home Week with a salute to our military with a specially prepared luncheon for soldiers from Ft. Rucker. During the fall we have Trick or Treating in our front lobby, an Arts & Crafts Fair just before Thanksgiving, and a Holiday Open House for Christmas.

We are in the process of fund raising in order to purchase a new bus for our residents. We are planning outings to Wal-Mart, The Junction for picnics, an area Zoo and other area attractions. Donations to this endeavor are tax deductible and greatly appreciated.

We invite you to come for a visit. We are sure you will find many interesting activities to join. We would love to have you as part of our family. If you are interested
